Visa Policy

Student visas are availabe to full-time, Core Program students. The Omani govermernment has granted our institute the status of being able to obtain students visas. Final issuance of visas is at the approval of the Royal Omani Police (ROP), and ROP has the right to deny a visa for any reason. It is possible that students receive different visa durations (i.e 6months, 1 year, 2 years, etc.).

Application Deadline Dates

Fall Semester deadline (if students visa is needed): July 1st
Spring Semester deadline (if students visa is needed): December 1st

In order to complete an application, a new student needs to submit the following to AEI:

  • AEI student application
  • 100 OMR deposit
  • Passport-style photo (via email)
  • Copy of passport photo page (via email)

Due to the visa processing system within the ROP, new students cannot be in Oman while visas are being processed, including those students already residing in Oman. Visas will likely be processed during the first 2 weeks of July for Fall semester and the first 2 weeks of December for the Spring semester. Please confirm with AEI administration on visa processing dates as the dates may vary slightly from the semester to semester.
